The mission of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is to support an orchestra for the people of East Tennessee by upholding the highest standards in musical performances and educational programs. The KSO consists of 80 professional musicians and performs 300 programs each season. The Music & Wellness Program explores the benefit of live music for patients, visitors and staff in health care settings. Soloists and ensembles perform in waiting areas, oncology, cardio vascular, rehabilitation, senior care, assisted living and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Musicians are guided by a Board Certified Music Therapist and some are Certified Music Practitioners.
The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s (KSO) Music & Wellness Program provides both ensembles and solo musicians to play live music in health care settings with the goal to benefit patients, visitors and staff. Primary populations served include older adults in oncology, rehabilitation, and cardio vascular treatment.
