Akintayo Akintobi: Surface, Spirit, and Sand

Born in Ibadan, Southwestern Nigeria in 1994, Akintayo Akintobi is a painter and educator whose work is deeply rooted in his African culture, family, and lived experiences. Raised within the rich traditions of the Yoruba people, His artistic language is defined by brilliant colors, bold patterns, symbolic motifs, and heavily textured canvases. His work explores themes of cross-cultural experiences and cultural identity using layered imagery, texture, and symbolism. More.
