Connye Florance- is an award-winning jazz vocalist, recording artist, teaching artist, vocal instructor and published songwriter; endorsed as “Esteemed Southern Artist” by South Arts and Tennessee Arts Commission. She is a well-loved instructor who has enjoyed 2 decades of Teaching Artistry – for Tennessee Arts Commission, Tennessee Performing Arts Centers H.O.T programming for schools, Nashville Jazz Workshop, Music for Seniors and NAZA. Connye loves teaching and is always delighted to help others uncover and release their musical creativity.

Program Description:
Songwriting Classes (Rhythm, Rhyme and Story) guide students through examining the musical nature of language, structure of songs and processes for creative development in songwriting. Students explore rhythmic ideas set to story and musical ideas put to story and song structure.
Program Type: Arts Curriculum
Program Description:
Students will explore rhythm & rhyme, “thought-singing” group singing and musical improvisation while learning the basics of songwriting through the lens of story. Culminating event will include a presentation of musical stories/songs created by participants.
