Grant Available To Attend Performing Arts Exchange

The Performing Arts Exchange (PAE) is an annual performing arts booking, showcasing and professional development conference, managed by South Arts will be hosted in Orlando, FL, September 23-26, 2019. PAE is the primary marketplace and forum for performing arts presenting and touring in the eastern US. Their purpose is to connect artists with audiences by fostering excellence in all aspects of presenting and touring the performing arts.

The Tennessee Arts Commission is offering the Special Opportunities grant on a first-come, first-served basis and will close when all funds are allocated or by the deadline, whichever comes first.

If awarded funds, all payments are made as reimbursements. Grantees will be required to close out this grant and request funds (same report) within 30 days of the activity end date, or risk forfeiture of grant funds.

Grantees must electronically sign and route the issued contract before the activity start date, as indicated in the application, or the grant will be canceled.

The Tennessee Arts Commission encourages applications from any eligible organization or individual from across the state. Those located or living in distressed counties (Lake, Lauderdale, Hardeman, McNairy, Perry, Jackson, Clay, Grundy, Van Buren, Bledsoe, Fentress, Morgan, Scott, Hancock and Cocke), at-risk counties, and rural counties are encouraged to apply.

This grant category provides…

  1. up to $500 for individual applicants who reside in Tennessee, or
  2. up to $1,000 for organizational applicants registering a minimum of 2 or more staff, or
  3. up to $1,000 for artist duos, groups or ensembles who reside in Tennessee (for artists who perform in an ensemble of two or more individuals and are performing at an official South Arts sponsored showcase for the event). Applicants for artist duos, groups or ensembles should be made in the name of ONE individual of the group. Follow individual instructions and clearly note that the application is for a duo, group or ensemble

Funds may be used toward registration fees, travel and hotel costs ONLY while attending the conference listed above.

Organizational applicants may register a single staff member, but should adjust their request to a maximum of $500.
