2023 Sevier County Youth Exhibition for Local K-12 artists

To the Sevier County child who weaves a basket, paints a portrait, or crafts a vessel out of clay, making art is joyful, enriching, and fun. Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is proud to recognize and support young artists in the community with an exhibition of their work. Sevier County K-12 artists, ages 5 – 18, are invited to submit artwork for inclusion in the 2023 Sevier County Youth Exhibition. Artwork submissions are received at Arrowmont February 10, 2023.

Young artists from Sevier County may submit up to two original artworks for inclusion in the show. Artworks are accepted on Friday, February 10, 2023, between 9:00 am – 7:00 pm. Artwork drop-offs are located in Arrowmont’s main Emma Harper Turner Building on campus, 556 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN. The work will be exhibited alongside the 21st Sevier County Biennial Juried Exhibition, with a public reception February 17, 2023, 5:30 – 8:30 pm. The Youth Exhibition will be on view at Arrowmont February 14 – 18, 2023.

First, second, third place, honorable mentions, and more will be awarded with cash prizes or sponsorships. The 2023 Sevier County Youth Awards Juror is Arrowmont instructor Kelly Sullivan. Sullivan, a mixed-media artist, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BFA in studio art with a concentration in printmaking. She lived in South Florida, Atlanta, Syracuse, NY, and currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. Kelly moved to East Tennessee to follow a dream and work at Arrowmont where she worked for two and a half years. Sullivan is currently director of Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center where she creates community arts programming. She teaches a wide variety of art classes at the KAFCC, Arrowmont, CSCET and Mighty Mud.
