South Arts Grant Opportunities Spring 2026

From South Arts –

South Arts has opened several grant opportunities.

Opportunities for Individual Artists

For artists seeking to elevate their careers, the Artist Creative Practice Grant offers up to $3,000 to support milestone activities such as professional development or business enhancement (e.g., marketing materials or branding). Round two applications are now open through April 30, 2026.

Support for Organizations and Communities

Organizations can tap into several funding streams to increase their community impact:

  • Arts in Rural Places: Supporting nonprofit and government organizations in rural, small, or geographically isolated communities, this program invests in projects that reflect local culture, strengthen community connection, and expand access to meaningful arts experiences beyond urban centers.

  • Southern Artist Spotlight Grant: A new pilot program supporting arts and community organizations in presenting Southern artists from the South Arts roster, artists whose work has been recognized through South Arts programs.

  • Professional Development for Arts Organizations Grants: Designed for arts organizations with operating budgets of $500,000 or less, this opportunity supports staff and leadership in building skills, strengthening capacity, and investing in professional growth that sustains their work over time.

Deadlines and Eligibility

Several of these programs operate on a rolling deadline. To be eligible, applicants must reside or operate within South Arts’ nine-state region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
