Ibrahima Dioubate is a master percussionist from Guinea Conakry, representing a culture that dates back as far as the Mali Empire. He enjoys bringing this vibrant art to older adults who are particularly receptive to the history of this art form. Windship Boyd is a Franco-American dancer. She has worked in West Africa since 2004. In Nashville her objectives are to promote African and multicultural art and help foster cultural exchanges to all ages and populations.

AfricaNashville serves as a platform for artistic expression and cultural exchange, promoting the importance of African heritage in Nashville’s music scene. We foster cross-cultural exchanges between African artists and local 2 artists here in Nashville, teaching and performing in theaters, universities, schools, community centers and festivals. We also offer music and dance training for people of all ages in Nashville, sometimes integrating them into performances. AfricaNashville’s Yeli Ensemble has toured and taught in Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Colorado and Montana. We also organize Dance & Drum workshops in Senegal, West Africa.
