Lewis B. Burton

Graduating from Nashville’s George Peabody College for Teachers with a M.A., Burton taught art in the Davidson County School System prior to becoming an Associate Professor of Art at Austin Peay State University (APSU) in 1960 and retiring in 1982. He received numerous awards including first prize for a drawing at the Tennessee State Fair. His work was exhibited at the Trahern Gallery at APSU, Huntsville Arts League in Alabama and Cheekwood Estate and Gardens in Nashville.
