Welcome to the Commission, Nieya

We are so excited to welcome our newest team member. Nieya (pronounced Ni-E-ya) is our new Executive Administrative Assistant will be responsible for scheduling and administrative support for the Executive Director, Anne B. Pope and the Commission board. Additionally, she will participate with the Commission team to support agency-wide events and initiatives, including the Governor’s Arts Awards , statewide arts conferences and other commission events.
Nieya is a Nashville native with special expertise in events management from experience at the University Club of Nashville and Marriott, Inc. She also worked as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Director and Managers of Talent Management at Vanderbilt University, coordinating schedules, travel and expense reports and meeting planning.
She earned a BS in arts education from Tennessee State University and completed 60 hours of graduate studies towards an MFA in Furniture Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
