The Arts & TN Military Communities Panel Session
From Anne B. Pope, Executive Director
The TN Arts Commission will be presenting a panel session called The Arts and TN Military Communities on Thursday, June 21, 2018, 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. The session will be held at the Art +Design Building, Room 208, Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
There is growing recognition that the arts can play a particularly powerful role in efforts supporting active-duty service members, reservists, veterans, their families and other members of the military community.
This panel session will discuss what organizations are currently doing in their communities for Tennessee’s military, reservists, veterans, and their families, and what initiatives are being taken by the Tennessee Arts Commission to foster the growth of arts programming in this area. Plus the Commission will make an announcement of a new initiative.
The presenters include:
Many-Bears Grinder, Commissioner, Tennessee Department of Veteran Services
Anne B. Pope, Executive Director, Tennessee Arts Commission
Matt Brown, Founder, Writer Corps
Linda Parris-Bailey, Executive/Artistic Director, Carpetbag Theatre Inc.
Facilitated by Hal Partlow, Associate Director of Grants, Tennessee Arts Commission
