National Endowment for the Arts Awards $1,054,900 for Arts Projects in TN

nea-grants-infographic BOTTOM CroppedIn the second major grant announcement during its 50th Anniversary year, the National Endowment for the Arts awarded $1,054,900 to the support of a variety of arts and culture projects in Tennessee. Fourteen organizations will be granted, including the TN Arts Commission.

For this round, funds were distributed to four categories:  Art Works; Research: Art Works; Our Town; and State and Regional Partnerships.

“The arts are all around us, enhancing our lives in ways both subtle and obvious, expected and unexpected,” said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. “Supporting projects like the ones in Tennessee offers more opportunities to engage in the arts every day.”

“This federal funding will help Tennessee communities continue to thrive through the arts,” says Anne B. Pope, Executive Director of the Tennessee Arts Commission. “The number of both urban and rural organizations granted speaks to the quality, depth and diversity of the arts across the state and brings the awardees onto the national stage. Congratulations to all awarded.”

  • Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Clarksville, TN: $10,000
  • City of Cleveland, Cleveland, TN: $25,000
  • Cumberland County Playhouse, Crossville, TN: $10,000
  • Knox CountyKnoxville, TN: $10,000
  • Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Nashville, TN: $35,000
  • Humanities Tennessee,  Nashville, TN: $20,000
  • Metro Nashville Arts Commission, Nashville, TN: $50,000
  • Nashville Children’s Theatre, Nashville, TN: $10,000
  • Nashville Repertory Theatre, Nashville, TN: $10,000
  • Nashville Symphony, Nashville, TN: $25,000
