National Council on the Arts Public Meeting on Oct. 30, 2015

The National Endowment for the Art’s tri-annual public meeting of the National Council on the Arts will take place this Friday, October 30, 2015. It will be webcasted live from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. CT (9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ET). The footage will also be archived on the NEA’s website.

This meeting will include guest presentations and feature a highlight of the NEA’s 50th Anniversary. The schedule is as follows:

8:30–9:00 a.m. CT : The Beginning of the NEA and the Founding of the American Film Institute
(9:30–10:00 a.m. ET)

9:00–9:30 a.m. CT:  50th Anniversary Web Resources
(10:00–10:30 a.m. ET)

9:30–10:15 a.m. CT: The History and Impact of NEA Funding
(10:30–11:15 a.m. ET)

Established through the National Arts and Cultural Development Act of 1964, the National Council on the Arts advises the NEA on agency policies and programs. It convenes three times yearly to review and make recommendations on grants applications, funding guidelines and leadership initiatives.
