From Western Arts Alliance –

DEADLINE February 1, 2023

Call for applications for the 2023 cycle of our Native Launchpad program – a three-year direct funding and career development opportunity for U.S.-based Indigenous performing artists, valued at $40,000.

Advancing Indigenous Performance (AIP) is a national program developed by Western Arts Alliance — the West’s membership organization of touring and performing arts professionals. AIP aims to create new touring and presentation opportunities and build audiences for U.S.-based Indigenous performing artists.

Native Launchpad
The cornerstone program of AIP, Native Launchpad provides Indigenous performing artists with tools and resources needed to further their careers and deepen their connection to the world of arts presenting and management through a comprehensive three-year package of benefits.

Selected artists will receive:

  • Career development: Year-round career development program, including special topic webinars.
Financial support: $17,000 in direct support; $10K in year one, $5K in year two, and $2K in year three.
  • Travel support: Airfare, lodging, registration, and per diem to attend the WAA Annual Conference and the Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) conference.
  • Promotional benefits: Artist profiles on the WAA website, spotlight articles in the WAA newsletter, and an AIP booth at the WAA and APAP conferences.
  • Mentoring: Native Launchpad artists are paired with a mentor. Together, they establish goals and develop a work plan for reaching them.
