From Anne B. Pope, Executive Director —

GrantsWorkshopsBadgeThe Tennessee Arts Commission is conducting a series of grants workshops across the state to inform the public of funding opportunities and other programs offered by the agency. These workshops are informational meetings for potential and current constituents, nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, Tennessee teachers and artists.

Now wrapping up the East TN workshops, attendees learned about grant opportunities and the application process, state arts resources, accessibility strategies and the Arts Education Teaching Artist Roster. The Commission hopes that the information provided will help attendees work with us more efficiently to benefit their communities through the arts.

The Knoxville workshop was held at the Knoxville Museum of Art and the Jonesborough session was hosted at the International Storytelling Center. Tomorrow, the final East TN workshop will be held in Chattanooga at the Hunter Museum of American Art.

“We have been very pleased with the turn out so far,” said Hal Partlow, Associate Director of Grants. “Each workshop has had a mix of administrators, artists, educators and other non-arts organizations that provided high energy and insightful discussions.”

Continuing to present at the Middle and West TN workshops will be Commission staff Krishna Adams, Lee Baird, Ann Brown, Dana Everts-Boehm, Shannon Ford, Jared Morrison and Hal Partlow.

These sessions are free and open to the  public. To attend one of the following workshops, click the link provided beneath the location. The schedule includes upcoming workshops dates and locations. Additional information will be added when it is available.
