At NCT, Alicia was responsible for guiding the Drama School’s robust lineup of camps and classes, training a roster of teaching artists, and designing programs to engage schools, families, and community organizations in NCT’s work onstage and off.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alicia as Director of Arts Education to the Commission’s staff. Arts learning is a priority of this agency. Our focus is on supporting arts and cultural organizations, schools, and teaching artists as key providers in preparing students for success in school, career, and life. Alicia’s experience with an esteemed arts education provider like the Nashville Children’s Theatre will serve the Commission and learners of all ages in Tennessee,” said Anne B. Pope, Executive Director of the Commission.

Alicia stated, “As an educator, I have highly valued the opportunity to connect students to arts experiences that build their confidence while strengthening their compassion for those around them. In this new role, I am eager to support educators and students across the state, ensuring that they all have arts experiences that help them grow as both individuals and collaborators, strengthened and prepared for whatever their future holds.”

Alicia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Florida State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida.
