AnnB+DaniBThe Tennessee Arts Commission is pleased to announce Danielle Brown as the new Arts Education Special Projects Coordinator. Known as Dani around the office, she came to us from Illinois. In her position here, Dani will assist the Arts Education program in numerous ways, including the planning and execution of events, providing assistance in developing arts programs and administering grants.

Having worked in the arts sector for over five years, Dani most recently worked at Bubbles Academy in Chicago, where she created unique arts integrated curriculum and planned signature events for all ages.

Previously, she worked as a Teaching Artist via Northern Illinois and New York City. She also helped curate exhibitions in the museum of her alma mater, Southern Illinois University (SIU), including: The Warhol Donation, which consisted of 150 Polaroids and 52 Silver Gelatin Prints by the Andy Warhol Photogenic Legacy Program, as a part of the 20thanniversary of the Annual Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; and The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection: Fifty Works for Fifty States.

An artist herself, Dani continues to create a series of ceramic bumble bees and human like figures. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the SIU Art Department in 2010, with an emphasis in Studio Art and Museum Studies.

The Arts Education program will greatly benefit from Dani’s experience and artistic background. Please join us in welcoming Dani.
