Holding a B.F.A. and M.F.A. degree from the University of Tennessee, Hyde has extensive experience in galleries, media and education. A freelance photographer and videographer, Hyde uses large-scale black-and-white photos to examine both the physical and emotional character of her female subjects. Hyde has taught at Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge, and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
I use my images to intensely study my subjects – their faces, glances, gestures and roles within their respective environments, every aspect adding another piece to a complex puzzle. Each woman is strikingly unique, from the lines in her face to the personality that she exudes simply in the way she holds her body. Each woman has a story to tell… a story that I aim to uncover and indulgently immerse myself in. – Hyde
