We are so excited to welcome our newest team member. Christa Abernathy is our new Executive Administrative Assistant, and she will be responsible for scheduling and administrative support for the Commission. Additionally, she will participate with the Commission team to support agency-wide events and initiatives, including the Governor’s Arts Awards, statewide arts conferences, and other commission events.
Christa is a Nashville native who studied event management through her Bachelor’s degree in Leisure Sports and Tourism Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. Her internship at Bridgestone Arena gave her experience in broad-scale event planning, communication, and public relations. Prior to joining the Commission, she worked as Executive Administrative Assistant to General Sessions Court in Davidson County, coordinating schedules, written communication, travel, and meeting planning.
