American Rescue Plan Grants Available through the Arts & Culture Alliance

From Arts & Culture Alliance –

(Knoxville) – The Arts & Culture Alliance (ACA) is pleased to announce American Rescue Plan Renewal Grants, a Federal funding program made possible through the generosity of the City of Knoxville and Knox County. Distributed through the Arts & Culture Alliance, American Rescue Plan grants provide support for day to day operations for local nonprofit arts and culture organizations and project support to individual artists living full-time in the city and nonprofit arts and culture organizations.

The grants are designed to aid East Tennessee’s pandemic recovery by supporting local jobs, boosting tourism, stimulating the local economy, activating neighborhoods, and conducting education programs specifically targeting K-12 students in underserved communities to help them regain ground lost during the pandemic. Arts and culture projects that provide opportunities within communities historically underserved and/or disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and local neighborhoods are encouraged.

The application receipt deadline is midnight on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with Liza Zenni, Executive Director of the Arts & Culture Alliance, prior to applying.

Email LZ@knoxalliance.com to request a phone meeting Monday-Friday 9 AM – 5 PM (EST) from March 2-28, 2023. For those who cannot schedule, a recorded video of helpful application tips will be posted online.

Awards for artists living full-time in the City of Knoxville range from $500 to $15,000. Awards for the City of Knoxville and Knox County nonprofit arts organizations will range from $1,000 to $40,000 for projects and programs taking place July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.

“We are so grateful to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs and Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon for their generosity,” says Liza Zenni, Executive Director. “They recognize the essential role the local arts and culture industry plays in aiding our communities’ recovery.”
