Last year’s student weigh in on their experience.
Don’t miss the chance to be a part of this year’s statewide competition

From Meredith Callis, Tennessee’s Poetry Out Loud State Coordinator –

Poetry Out Loud offers all high school students the opportunity to participate in a national competition while teaching them meaningful engagement with poetry and public speaking skills.

The competition begins at the classroom level to select a school champio, who will then go on to the State Finals on March 1-2, 2019. The winner will receive $1,000, as well as a trip with their teacher to represent Tennessee in Washington D.C. for the National Poetry Out Loud Finals. The complimentary materials are aligned with the National Council of Teachers of English – English Language Arts Standards. Teachers of all subjects can teach the content by itself or in addition to other lessons.
