Teaching Artist Musings: A Webinar Series for Tennessee Teaching Artists

By Julia Stark, Arts Learning Specialist –

The Tennessee Arts Commission is excited to announce a new webinar series designed to enhance the professional growth of teaching artists across the state. This multipart series will center around professional development topics and explore current trends and best practices for teaching artists throughout the state. We invite everyone to attend and participate in one or more of the sessions throughout the year.

The first Musing on August 8 at 11:00 a.m. CT will include discussions on our Student Ticket Subsidy grant, self-marketing, and best strategies for leading programming for schools. This one-hour session will offer participants tips and tools for kicking off the school year. Whether new to the job, a veteran teaching artist, or just curious about what it takes to be a teaching artist, this series will offer insight to all participants in bringing valuable arts education opportunities to students.  Experienced Teaching Artists from our Teaching Artist Roster will discuss their work with the Student Ticket Subsidy grant and offer insight into promoting programming to schools and teachers. The session will be led by Arts Education team, Chris Sweatt and Julia Stark, who will guide the panel’s discussion. If you have any questions for the panel or about the webinar series, please email Julia Stark at julia.stark@tn.gov.
