Hal Partlow

Associate Director of Operations

Hal Partlow is responsible for the supervision of the Tennessee Arts Commission’s budget, procurement, accounting, human resources, and day-to-day operations. He oversees all internal non-grant functions, assuring that all human and financial resources are moving towards agency goals.

Prior to his current position, he served for seven years as Director of Performing Arts for the Commission. Two of the special projects he managed for the Commission include the Governor’s Arts Awards and the publication of Historic Tennessee Stages, an architectural and cultural survey of the state’s historic performance spaces.

He is a veteran of the United States Army and received his B.A. from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. In addition, he has completed M.A. course work at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Prior to joining the Tennessee Arts Commission, Hal worked twenty years as a professional actor and stage director.
