As one of the acclaimed Knoxville Seven in the 1960’s, Stevens was fresh on the scene of abstract expressionism for East Tennessee and an early faculty member of the University of Tennessee’s art department. His work lives in numerous collections including the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Knoxville Museum of Art, Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Alabama, the Mint Museum in Charlotte and others.
