Fuhrman received his B.S. at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and then went on to study glass at the Art Institute of Chicago and at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. At the age of fifty Fuhrman decided to follow his dream of becoming a glass artist. He sold his light fixture company, moved to Woodbury with his wife and began creating glass works. His work can be found at the Nashville Public Library, Southern Hills Medical Center, Tennessee State Museum, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, and the White House in Washington DC.  Today Fuhrman teaches glass classes and workshops at his studio in Oak Ridge. Green Ceremonial Bowl was exhibited in the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery as part of the Governor’s 2003 Inaugural Exhibit.
