Russell received a B.F.A. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a M.S. at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Today, Russell owns and runs a hot shop studio in his hometown of Greeneville. Russell also teaches in the glass department at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. His work can be found in the collections of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA; the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY; the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC; Walt Disney Corporation in Lake Buena Vista, FL; and the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville among others. Interior Series was exhibited in the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery as part of the Governor’s 2003 Inaugural Exhibit.
