Season’s Greetings from the TN Arts Commission

From Anne B. Pope, Executive Director –

Season’s Greetings, Tennessee. From all of us at the Tennessee Arts Commission, I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyful Holiday Season.

As the year draws to a close, the spirit of the holidays brings with it a time for reflection and renewed hope. We at the Tennessee Arts Commission want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you, our valued stakeholders, who have been instrumental in our shared journey.

This past year:

  • We invested $9M in regular grant programs and $25M in the TN Nonprofit Arts & Culture Recovery Fund, resulting in over 1,000 grants in all 95 counties and supporting an arts and culture sector that inspires, connects, and enhances everyday lives.
  • Thanks to 21 local partners, the Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 study demonstrated the $1.4 billion economic impact of the arts in TN.
  • While we launched new initiatives like Creative Aging TN III, the TN Makerspace Network, and the TN Folklife Institute, we also wrapped the TN Person-Centered Music Program, which resulted in improvements in cognitive impairments, mood severity, communication, adverse behavioral symptoms, and quality of life, and reduced the use of antipsychotic drugs in older adults through the arts.
  • Finally, we recognized the excellent work of teachers and students at the Poetry Out Loud State Finals and celebrated the impact of some of the state’s best individual artists, arts administrators, and cultural institutions at the 25th Governor’s Arts Awards.

On behalf of the staff at the Commission, we would like to thank you all for the many ways you have enriched and made life better in your community and state through the arts. We wish you a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and precious moments with those who matter most. May the new year bring you abundant blessings, personal fulfillment, and continued success.

With sincerest gratitude,

Anne B. Pope
