FY22 Annual Grant Panel Meetings Begin March 22nd

Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Grant Panel Meetings will be held March 22 through April 16, 2021. Due to the pandemic, there will be no in-person FY22 Annual Grant Panel Meetings. All panel meetings will be held by conference call only in March-April 2021. The meetings are open to the public by dialing 888-778-2006 (no passcode required). All meeting attendees will be asked to mute their phones. Applicants are encouraged to be present for the review of their application. While applicants will not be allowed to make a presentation, they will be asked to unmute their phones, identify themselves, and answer questions by panelists during the time of their application review.

The Commission’s Annual Grant applications are reviewed each year by peer advisory panels comprised of Tennessee citizens, with the exception of Major Cultural Institution and Individual Artist Fellowship which are reviewed by out-of-state adjudicators. Panelists provide expert guidance so that the Commission can make informed decisions in awarding grants and technical assistance recommendations to applicants. Panelists do not allocate dollar amounts in association with a specific grant application, but rather assign a numerical rating to each of the published evaluation criteria based on the evidence found within every grant application they are assigned to review.

Each panel meeting is focused on a specific artistic discipline or grant category. The composition of each panel ideally represents the cultural and geographic diversity of Tennessee. A panel may have representative expertise in organizational management, program creation and implementation, financial management, education, as well as other business and community development acumen. Thank you to all of the volunteer panelists serving during the FY22 reviews and to all of the applicant organizations for their proposals this year.
