A Fond Farewell to One of Our Staff Members

This week we say goodbye to the Commission’s current Arts Learning Specialist, Michelle Sipes. Michelle was the driving force behind coordinating arts learning programs, specifically Poetry Out Loud, Student Ticket Subsidy, and the Teaching Artist Roster. We’re grateful for her contributions to the organization during her time here.

“Michelle’s leadership of the Poetry Out Loud program focused on the student experience, driven by the desire to make sure that each student felt lifted up in their love for the art of poetry and recitation,” said Alicia Fuss, the Director of Arts Education. “In her first four months with TAC, she helmed a hugely successful virtual competition that showcased student work with the utmost professionalism. This year, she brought the live State Finals Competition back to vibrant success, creating an event that celebrated each participant and the impressive accomplishments that qualified them for the State Finals.”
