Loy was a member of UT’s art faculty during the 1960-70s and he exhibited off and on with members of the Knoxville 7. This progressive group (1955-1965) produced some of the first abstract expressionist art in Tennessee during that time. His main area of focus seems to have been works on paper—prints, collages, and drawings.
