Exploring Clarksville's Past, Present, and Future
This grant funded multi-media productions in downtown Clarksville. Clarksville’s depressed downtown area was extensively damaged by a 1999 tornado. Clarksville’s present was explored through two videos shown at the Roxy Regional Theatre: an art film, “Our City”, by art professors Kell Black and Barry Jones and excerpts from a Gateway Chamber Orchestra performance. A community discussion took place after the showings exploring the themes portrayed in the videos. The project served as an opportunity to bring community members downtown for arts-related activities.
