Appalachian Spring Festival

Arts Cultural Enrichment Council of Hawkins County expanded the Appalachian Spring Festival by including 3 days of workshops in traditional music, weaving and felting, quilting, woodcarving, storytelling, folk dancing and a May Pole dance. The 2018 festival focused on experiential learning through the workshops and interactive performances, drawing from local artists.

Four musicians perform on a wooden gazebo stage outdoors. A woman plays violin, while three men play guitar and banjo. The scene is sunny, with greenery in the background and microphones set up in front of each performer.

A woman and a young boy sit at an outdoor table. The woman holds a large red paper flower and smiles at the camera while the boy, also smiling, sits beside her. Green trees and a car are visible in the background.

Three people, two adults and a child, look at a tray of assorted jewelry and trinkets at an outdoor market. One adult points at the items while the others watch. The child holds a drink and wears sunglasses.

An artist sits at an easel drawing a portrait of a young woman who is seated in front of them outdoors. The woman poses while the artist sketches. Folding chairs and green grass are visible in the background.
