The Dixie Marquee Project

The Dixie and the City engaged Huntingdon High School high school students in the design of potential marquee signs for the Center. Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) instructors, Gränges Americas engineers and Dixie staff collaborated with students on designs and five submissions chosen as finalists. The community voted for the design that was ultimately fabricated. Through the arts, the Dixie and the City hoped to increase engagement and expand into other avenues of collaboration by connecting with local youth, industrial business and the technology center.

A group of people stands in a workshop behind five metal and wood projects that appear to be architectural models. The workshop has industrial equipment, pipes, and yellow curtains in the background.

An older man hands a certificate to a smiling young woman standing in front of a red flag with a circular blue and white emblem.

Five metal art pieces are displayed on black-covered tables in front of a brick building with large windows. Each artwork has cut-out designs and small plaques placed in front of them.

A brick building with a sign reading The Dixie above a marquee that says Derby Day at The Dixie May 4. The entrance has glass doors and large windows, and the area around the building is quiet.
