Smithville Mural Project

The city commissioned multiple murals downtown to celebrate regional history and natural beauty while contributing to redevelopment efforts. This public art initiative positioned the arts as a central element of Smithville’s revitalization. The murals fostered civic pride and attracted both residents and visitors. The visual transformation of downtown helped define the city’s evolving identity.

A mural painted to look like a window shows a tall, sad-looking Great Dane standing behind a cheerful pug with its tongue out. Both dogs appear to be looking out the window.

A mural of a colorful flower arch, including pink, white, and yellow blooms with green leaves, is painted on a gray wall. A small sign in the lower left corner credits the Tennessee Arts Commission and Sun Graphics.
