Downtown Jackson Public Art Initiative

The city commissioned a rockabilly-themed mural to visually connect the east and west sides of downtown Jackson along Highway 45 and a mural depicting Black public art. The murals honored Jackson’s musical legacy and served as a cultural bridge across neighborhoods. Project artists also hosted art workshops with youth from organization Keep My Hood Good that allowed them to actively participate in curating the murals.
