ArtsLaunch Germantown

City of Germantown utilized artists in a community engagement and visioning process to generate comprehensive and inclusive conversations about public art among residents and visitors. The project originally deployed the “Colors of the Heart” art cart to answer the question, “What is the Heart of Germantown?” to capture what residents valued about their city. The intent was to use these colorful orbs in a temporary public art piece, however the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic required the Public Art Commission to pivot to an online and in-home project to explore Germantown’s identity. This process was a component of Germantown’s comprehensive public art master plan.
