Historic Gallatin Murals

The City of Gallatin installed two murals along Franklin Street, one portraying the bond that arose between black and white high school rival basketball teams, and the other portraying an influential citizen that helped bring the railroad to Gallatin. The project was intended to help revitalize a struggling downtown and create greater visibility for the farmer’s market. Partners included Gallatin Arts Council, Volunteer State Community College, Sumner County Historical Society, Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, and Sumner County Visitor’s Bureau.
