Robmat Butler, a graduate of The University of Tennessee’s M.F.A. program in sculpture, lives and works in Knoxville, TN. He received a B.F.A. in Studio Arts with a minor in Art History from the University of South Florida.
In addition to being the preparator at The Knoxville Museum of Art, Robmat is an active contemporary artist, whose work has been shown both nationally and internationally. His work has been shown at the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery, and most recently, been included in Miami’s Art Basel and featured in The Foosaner Art Museum’s show Naval Gazing. Robmat also collaborates with Barron Hall as The Art Team, building site specific, large scale installations. Butler also works as a freelance fabricator while pursuing an interest in curating local and regional art events.
