Loretta Ana Kaufman

In five decades this Nashville multi-media artist has produced two and three dimensional forms in wood, fiber, metal, paint, and clay. Kaufman has been exhibited globally since 1977 and received numerous awards for her work. Acrylic, oil paintings, sculptures and collages have been featured in international art journals, appeared in books, and reviewed in many print publications. Her acrylic paintings have been described as powerful, bold and arresting, geometrically complex containing visually stirring abstract imagery. Reviews of her stoneware sculpture allude to organic forms and raw, unglazed surfaces that undulate and teem with life, and often create an interesting tension between symmetry and fluidity. Kaufman’s paintings and sculptures are included in permanent collections and institutions worldwide. Her full biography is listed in Who’s Who In The South & Southwest, Who’s Who In American Art, and Who’s Who In America.
