Alan Shuptrine Exhibit Opens at the Tennessee State Museum

Alan Shuptrine opened his solo museum exhibition with a private reception on May 18th at the Tennessee State Museum. The exhibition, "Alan Shuptrine: Appalachian Watercolors of the Serpentine Chain", features over 50 watercolors depicting the land, people, and culture along the Appalachian Trail. It highlights the traditions and cultural aspects the original settlers brought to the mountains from their British and Celtic way of life. "Meeting" is an art exhibit by Laura Wilson. It will be on display in the Main Gallery at The Ned R. McWherter West TN Cultural Arts Center in Jackson, TN during the months of September and October 2017. The Gallery is open M-F 9-4:30. Admission is free. My exhibition of paintings depicting our TN State Symbols will hang at the Parthenon Sept. 7 until December 31. I’ve dedicated 2-1/2 years toward research and reference of our TN State Symbols... and devoted 18 months to design and execute the unique paintings presented in this exhibition. I hosted a “My TN Home” Student Art Competition, the 13 winners will also have their paintings on exhibition.
