Art of the South 2018

July 27 @ 10:00 am - September 8 @ 8:00 pm

Art of the South – sponsored annually by art journal Number Magazine – is an event that supports Southern artists by showcasing their work in a juried exhibition hosted in a rotating roster of prominent commercial and academic gallery spaces.

The opening reception is July 27th, 6 to 8pm. The work is on display July 27th to September 2nd. This exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s exhibition is juried by Brian Jobe, an artist, educator, independent curator and non-profit co-director based in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2015, Brian and Carolyn Jobe founded Locate Arts, an organization that connects and promotes contemporary visual art in Tennessee. Presently, Brian is the Co-Executive Director of Locate Arts + Seed Space. He also teaches art courses at Lipscomb University.

This year we are also pleased to announce that Art of the South 2018 will be hosted by Crosstown Arts, the organization that created the new mixed-use, vertical urban village space at Crosstown Concourse in Memphis, Tennessee.
