Tennessee is fortunate to have a rich and vibrant history of folklife artists. This commemorative exhibition highlights a small selection of folklife objects purchased by the Commission over the years to preserve and document these art forms and their importance to the history and future of Tennessee.

From skilled Ripley Choctaw potters hailing from Lauderdale County and time-honored basket weavers from Cannon County to a doll maker in Cumberland County and a wood carver in Washington County, this exhibition explores folk arts from across the three grand divisions that make up the great state of Tennessee.

The exhibit is open Monday — Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST. To schedule a gallery tour, contact Krishna Adams at 615-532-9798. For ADA inquiries, contact Kim Johnson at 615-532-9797.
