Paul Roden

In 2006, when this print was purchased, Roden a native Nashvillian, was actively working and exhibiting in Nashville as well as participating as a member of the Southeastern College Art Conference that was held at Vanderbilt University.

Roden received his B.F.A. from Washington University School of Art and his M.F.A. at the University of South Dakota. He also studied printmaking in Florence, Italy and Prague in the Czech Republic.

I arrange symbols in a quasi-believable landscape. Highlighting the similarities and differences of images and what they symbolize all occurs in the proximity of narratives…I strive to make images that are aesthetically non-repulsive, but contain a subversive agenda in the interaction of their symbols. – Roden, 2006
