Seeking Local Study Partners for Arts & Economic Prosperity Study
By Anne B. Pope, Executive Director –
Current, credible and local data about the economic impact of the arts is something we all need. In 2016, Americans for the Arts (AFTA) will conduct a national study of the economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences. Partner organizations who sign on to be a part of this important study receive an analysis customized to their community.
Please join the Tennessee Arts Commission and become a local study partner. Currently, ArtsMemphis, Arts Build Chattanooga, Knoxville Arts & Culture Alliance and Nashville Metro Arts Commission are on board as partners, and several local arts councils have already signed up. It is critical to have a partner in your area to ensure a complete state-wide representation.
Tennessee can have up to 20 partners. The Commission has set aside Special Opportunities grant funds in FY16 to offset 100% of the participation fee. For more information about eligibility and requirements, read the grant guidelines.
Please reply by August 7 to Carol White, Director of Operations with the following information to confirm your interest in becoming a local partner:
- Definition of the region to be studied (i.e., the name of the city or county or counties that should be included)
- Name of the partner organization
- Mailing address of the partner organization
- Name of the primary contact person
- Email address of the primary contact person
- Phone number of the primary contact person
I look forward to hearing from you and working together to analyze the impact of nonprofit arts and culture groups on Tennessee’s economic well-being. Please do not hesitate to call me (615-741-6396) if you would like to discuss the project further.
