Nominations for the Governor’s Arts Awards Due July 22

Call for Nominations-2017 Governor's Arts Awards

By Suzanne Lynch, Director of Marketing and Development —

Do you know of an individual or organization who has significantly impacted or advanced the value of the arts in Tennessee? Do they deserve a Governor’s Arts Award? Nominations are open and must be submitted by July 22, 2016.

The breadth and depth of the arts in Tennessee are as iconic as they are today because of the cultural heritage bequeathed by individuals and communities of the state’s past, as well as the talent, skill and dedication of many in this present day. The Governor’s Arts Awards recognize those of today who are currently making significant contributions to the arts and cultural life of Tennessee. These biennial awards are Tennessee’s highest honor in the arts, celebrating the outstanding contributions of artists, arts organizations, volunteers, schools, educators, local governments, legislators and corporate citizens on the state or national level.
