Science to Art Works by Gopal Murti On Exhbit March 18–May 13, 2016

For nearly 40 years, Murti studied the biological world—from molecules to tissues—using confocal, multi-photon and electron microscopes. His images received awards and adorned the covers of over 30 scientific journals as well as Time magazine.

After retirement in 2008, Murti became a watercolor painter, moving from technology to paint and brushes, creating works of art. This exhibition highlights Murti’s work, both as a scientist and an artist, and the transition seen through his processes.

Meet the artist for an informal reception on Friday, March 18 from 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery.
