Congratulations to Commissioner Dr. Leo McGee and his wife Gloria for their Country Garden of the Year Award, and subsequent six-page spread in the Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publication—County Gardens, Fall 2015 issue. After cultivating their garden for more than 25 years, the McGees now nurse the blooms of about 400 hydrangeas annually.

Located in the yard of their Cookeville home, the garden is certainly a sight to behold. There are more than 80 variations of the flowering shrub, and some of the plants are six feet tall. Leo continues to develop the floral masterpiece by collaborating with hydrangea hybridizers and collecting plants from nurseries within a 100 mile radius of his home.
