Collective Impact Conference update

By Suzanne Lynch, Director of Marketing and Development –

Spring is fast approaching and the TN Arts Commission staff have been planning the 4-day statewide arts conference, Collective Impact that will take place in Murfreesboro June 7-10.

This conference is shaping up to be one you should not miss. Around the theme of coming together as agents for social change, we will explore concrete ways on how to effectively implement proven strategies taught to us from experts in the field. Additionally each audience—nonprofit leaders, artists and educators—will find custom sessions that offer relevant information and provide real tools you will be able to start using immediately.

We received numerous proposals from our call for session speakers back in late 2015. We are currently planning the session schedule and speakers will be contacted by the end of February.

Registration for the conference will open in the beginning of April. This year, the Commission will again be offering a Special Opportunities Grant to cover the cost of conference registration. The application for this grant will open in early March.

Due to the Bonnaroo Festival and CMA week, Murfreesboro hotels are in high demand. We strongly encourage you to visit the conference webpage to view the choices and make your reservations as soon as possible. We have secured rooms at several hotels that offer a variety of competitive prices.

There is also an opportunity to rent dorm rooms on the MTSU campus for a very reasonable price. Information on how to reserve those rooms is also posted on the hotel webpage.

I hope you heard the news about the fantastic speakers that are going to present. If not, the list and their individual bios can also be found on our conference webpage. We will continue to send more information about the conference as we build the agenda.
