The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a professional development seminar for artists and other creatives on Thursday, October 22, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. Lisa Gifford Mueller will instruct attendees on how to use popular social media networks to promote their art and grow their creative business using social media platforms.

Attendees will learn:

  • tips to boost message and attract the desired audience
  • how to turn likes, followers and pins into customers and sales
  • how to increase social network use as a handful of free tools effectively and without taking time away from what you love: creating art.

The workshop will primarily cover Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, but will also discuss YouTube, LinkedIn, blogging and newer platforms such as SnapChat and Periscope to get attendees ready to create their social media marketing strategy. The presentation is $5 for members of the Arts & Culture Alliance and $8 for non-members. Please register in advance via PayPal, by phone at 865-523-7543 or by e-mail to sc@knoxalliance.com.

Lisa Gifford Mueller is a fused glass artist, photographer, creative entrepreneur and mentor. Eight years ago, Mueller quit her corporate job and launched ALM Photo, a professional photography business, with her husband. Shortly thereafter she had the opportunity to take over a fledging fused glass business and, armed with a glass cutter and a kiln, taught herself the art of fused glass and brought Sassy Glass Studio to life. Over the years, both businesses have grown dramatically, and Mueller fell in love with helping other artists and creative entrepreneurs realize their dreams of making a successful business of creating and selling their art. She then started Pink Spark Creative to help others achieve these goals. She teaches fused glass classes, educates photographers and mentors creative business owners and artists to give them the spark they need to launch or grow their endeavor. Mueller is also the Captain of the local Etsy Team, Knoxville Creative Hands Street Team and a Co-Chair of Fantasy of Trees, an annual event to benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.  Follow her on Twitter at @AllThingsSassy.

The Emporium Center is located at 100 S. Gay Street, in downtown Knoxville.
