2015 IAF Winner, Dr. Amy Michele Wright
By: Grace Robinson
Individual Artist Fellowship, Literary Arts
Author and poet, Dr. Amy Wright has sampled many “ancient convenience foods” to further her research. From her background in dairy farming to her current interest in food sustainability, Amy uses her literary gift to put her past and present into words. While the subject matter of her books and poems vary, many reflect her agricultural curiosity–much of which stems from her respect and awe for the millions of species that exist alongside humanity.
Amy has her BA and MA in English and her PhD in English with a specialization in creative writing, writing theory and pedagogy. With work in a number of journals, she was recently recognized as an Emerging Writer at the Southern Women Writers’ Conference. Amy is currently the Nonfiction Editor of Zone 3 Press and Zone 3 journal and teachers at Austin Peay State University.
The Individual Artist Fellowship awards professional artists who have exhibited excellence in their discipline of choice. For more information, click here.
