Promote the Specialty License Plate Program this Spring

By Suzanne Lynch, Director of Marketing and Development –

The sun is finally shining and Tennessee is in bloom — what a great time to think about encouraging your staff, board and patrons to purchase an arts plate. Earlier in the year, we announced that a new toolkit is available to you for promoting the program in print or online, but there are so many other unique and effective channels that can be utilized — we would love to hear what you are doing. Please send us your stories.

Examples of what arts organizations are doing include the Tennessee Performing Arts Center who regularly displays a Specialty License Plate message on their marquee. The Knoxville Opera worked to get all of their board members an arts plate. And the Belcourt Theatre runs an ad on screen before every movie. Many arts organizations display the point-of-purchase stand which holds sell-sheets or “how to buy an arts plate” brochures in their lobbies. If you don’t have one or need more, let me know and I will get them shipped to you.
